This thirties bias cut silk chiffon gown is absolutely beautiful. It is completely cut on the bias over the inner lining so drapes and moves to fit you perfectly from the second you slip it on. The silk is feather light - you could probably pull this dress through a decent size ring if it was not lined. Lots of those fab period details like the teeny gathers at the shoulders and puffed, high cap sleeves - they even have tulle inside them for extra volume. The waist is defined by a gathered panel. The bodice is high and simple so those fabulous sleeves get all the attention and the skirt cascades to the floor. There are yards of fabric in that skirt! I love the soft print and this has an unusual fabric covered zipper at the side - these were only made for a very short period so its is fascinating from a historical perspective as well! Truly a beauty that is utterly romantic on feel! Excellent condition!
